《英語論文寫作與發(fā)表》是《研究生英語系列教程》提高階段的主干教材之一，也是胡庚申主編的《國際交流英語系列教程》的重點教材之一。本教程主要供高年級研究生（碩士生、博士生）使用，同時也適用于具有大學英語六級水平以上的本科生或具有相當水平的其他專業(yè)人員。本教程的目的是幫助他們進一步提高學術英語寫作能力，特別是使用英語寫作和發(fā)表專業(yè)學術論文的實際能力。本書的編寫原則是：1.注意突出研究生“提高階段”英語教學層次較高、應用面廣、學術性強的特點，注重培養(yǎng)學習者用英語進行國際學術交流的實際能力。2.力求從實際出發(fā)，注重教材的先進性、實用性、針對性和導向性，確保內(nèi)容全面、材料翔實、例證豐富、語言規(guī)范。3.注意與“基礎階段”教材的銜接以及系列“提高階段”課程內(nèi)部的融會貫通?！队⒄Z論文寫作與發(fā)表》是一門具有雙重目的的課程，以探討論文寫作為主，兼及與論文發(fā)表等有關的學術交流?！皩懽鳌辈糠忠詫I(yè)學術論文的基本組織結(jié)構為主體，內(nèi)容包括：論文標題／作者／單位／關鍵詞、摘要、引言、正文、討論／結(jié)論、致謝／參考文獻／附錄，以及修定文稿等項目；每個項目均包括該項的主要功能、語言特點、寫作要求、實例分析、應知應會的寫作技能等。“發(fā)表”部分的內(nèi)容主要包括國內(nèi)外投稿的區(qū)別、目標刊物的選擇、投稿發(fā)表的基本程序、作者與刊物的聯(lián)系，以及有關注意事項等。每個單元的主要設置為：①TopicalHighlights（專題要點）；②Theme Presentation（正文描述）；③Sample Analysis（實例分析）；④Special.Attention（應知應會），以及⑤Reflections and Practice（思考與實踐）等。書中所出現(xiàn)的超綱詞匯以及有關術語均加以注釋。主要的選文也注明了出處。書后附有必要的參考答案、論文例析等，可供本教程使用者參考。
