張德明，1949年生，湖北京山人。1975年畢業(yè)于武漢大學歷史系。1986～1988年以訪問學者身份在美國新澤西州西東大學（seton Hall universitv）歷史系進修。史學博士，武漢大學歷史學院教授、博士生導師，兼任中國世界近代史研究會副會長、武漢海峽兩岸關系研究會理事。從事世界歷史、亞太經(jīng)濟關系史和歷史專業(yè)英語等方面的教學和研究。所授課程主要有：世界近代史、亞太經(jīng)濟關系、亞太地區(qū)史專題、環(huán)太平洋經(jīng)濟史英文原著研讀和歷史專業(yè)英語等。世界史方面的代表著述：專著《東亞經(jīng)濟中的美日關系研究1945～2000》（人民出版社，2003年）；亞太經(jīng)濟關系史系列論文《淺談環(huán)太平洋經(jīng)濟網(wǎng)絡的產(chǎn)生》，《東西文明的融合與亞太經(jīng)濟的發(fā)展》，《美國在亞洲的石油擴張》，《亞太經(jīng)濟中的美日關系影響因素》等10余篇（載《世界歷史》和《武漢大學學報》）。語言方面的成果：參加翻譯詞典一部：《世界歷史詞典》（商務印書館，1988年）；校訂（兩校訂者之一）譯著一本（英譯本）：The Figures’Photos and Biographies of the Revolution of 1911（《辛亥革命人物像傳》，武漢大學出版社，1993年）；譯文、英語教學論文三篇（載《世界歷史》、《湖北文史資料》和《外語教學》）。
