James R.McGuigan 原為韋恩州立大學(Wayne State university)商學院的財務學副教授,現(xiàn)在他擁有并經營著自己的古錢幣投資公司。他畢業(yè)于卡內基·梅隆大學(Carnegie—Mellon university),并在芝加哥大學(university of chicago)商學研究生院和匹茲堡大學(university of Pittsburgh)分別取得MBA和博士學位。盡管作者已離開大學或研究機構,但并沒有遠離學術界。其主要研究領域是公司財務,并與他人合作在South—Westen出版公司出版了《管理經濟學》(Managerial Economics,2005)(第十版)、《現(xiàn)代財務管理基礎》(contemporary Financial Management Flandamentals,2005)等多部教材和著作。
