經(jīng)過三年多的計劃、思考、準備和編寫，《實用英語教學法》終于問世了。《實用英語教學法》是為英語專業(yè)師范生編寫的英語教學法教材，也可用于中學英語教師的繼續(xù)教育和在職進修、培訓?！秾嵱糜⒄Z教學法》具有以下三個特點。1.緊扣新課標。著眼新課改。緊緊圍繞著《英語課程標準》的五大培養(yǎng)目標（英語知識、英語技能、情感態(tài)度、學習策略和文化意識），全書內(nèi)容分成七個部分：英語語言；英語教師；英語教學；四項技能；影響語言學習的情感因素；語言學習策略；語言教學中的文化意識。這種編排方法在目前國內(nèi)英語教學法教材中還不多見。2.選文有出處，內(nèi)容具權(quán)威。全書所選的86篇文章幾乎全部出自大家之手，其中不乏語言教學研究和教師教育領域的頂級人物和知名專家、教授，如：D.H.Howe，David Crook；George Herbert Palmer；Jeremy Harmer；F.G French；Harold E.Palmer；L.G.Alexander；Michael West。不僅反映了國內(nèi)外英語教學研究的最新成果，還為讀者提供了原汁原味、文筆優(yōu)美的英語文章。3.體例有特色。易學又實用。傳統(tǒng)的、國內(nèi)現(xiàn)有的英語教學法書籍和教材大致分為兩類，一是原版影印加導讀、全部由外國人編寫的專著和教材；二是中國人自己編的或全英語或全中文的教學法專著和教材。《實用英語教學法》的特色在于，它的每一篇文章都由五個部分組成：摘要、正文、注釋、思考題和名人名句，其中摘要和注釋兩個部分用的是漢語，這就為不同英語程度的讀者讀懂、讀透每篇正文提供了幫助。對英語師范生來說，《實用英語教學法》是一本在英語教學理論和方法方面均有指導意義的教材；對于在職的大學、中學英語教師而言，《實用英語教學法》也不失為一本方便實用、隨時可查的教學指導手冊。
